Free online education - websites and channels

99serbia:

Education is crucial for the progress of society. However, education is not available to everyone and because of that many social problems occur. The excuses we usually hear on why this is the case are: a) ‘Lack of funding’ and b) ‘Nothing is free. Everything has a price.’ Such arguments are moot as we can witness huge resources being wasted on irrelevant things like: marketing and PR, entertainment, consumer products with no clear use. The real reason behind educational segregation is lack of willingness or initiative in a given country to change the dominant state of affairs which suits the interests of economic and political elites. But all around the world there are enthusiasts who aim to make education available to everyone. Their strategy is to migrate knowledge and the process of learning from libraries and classrooms to the Internet. This is a list of  good courses and lectures that are available on the Internet free of charge and to everyone.

Occupy public transportation!

Due to a recent rise in fare costs, public transport has become all but good for the people. The private firm which installed electronic fares (Apex solutions) has also unlawfully created new, fascist rules of conduct in public transportation. Private firms can not, by law, create new rules for passengers in public transportation. The ploy of these rich businessmen will not go unnoticed. Furthermore, this firm uses ads in buses which openly blame the people for their loss of profit, such as: ‘If you don’t buy tickets, we may reduce the number of bus lines’ (the number of lines is too few as it is now and causes a lot of stress for the citizens), ‘Public transport ain’t free. Those who don’t pay are the ones to blame for bad service’ (fucking bastards! blaming the people for their own incompetence and creating divisions in public opinion on purpose).

Belgrade, Serbia, 17.03.2012.

A gathering in front of the Department of Justice, the institution that had its website defaced by an Anonymous under a nick SunTzu. He left a messaged saying that the department is corrupt cause normal people get harsh penalties, while criminals and crooks get away with their crime solely due to the fact that they have a lot of money and influence. Couple of days later he got arrested and they want to give him a penalty of 5 years! Curious fact: even rapists don’t get that much in Serbia, yet a smart 19 year old will???
